2019 reNew and reDo:

A Triumphant Affair Luncheon

-

The annual reNew and reDo: A Triumphant Affair luncheon, presented by The Women’s Home, has become one of Houston’s most anticipated philanthropic events. This year, it will take place at the Royal Sonesta Houston on December 3 at 10:30 a.m. The honorary chairs will be Shelley Gottschalk, Irene Liberatos, Jackie Phillips, Bette Stead, and El Matha Wilder.

Entrepreneur, actress, director, producer, and author, Jodie Sweetin, will be the keynote speaker. Sweetin is best known for her roles in Full House and Fuller House. In her memoir, UnSweetined, she shares her personal story of addiction and recovery, hoping to help others confront their own issues and move forward.

Jane Cizik will receive The Women’s Home Lifetime Achievement Award for being an integral part of the organization and helping it in transformational ways and for giving so much to the City of Houston. The Women’s Home’s residential facility, Jane Cizik Garden Place, is named after her.

SOK Salon on Kirby will be honored with the Champion of The Women’s Home Award. Owner, Alden Clark, has staunchly supported The Women’s Home for the last 10 years through the salon, which has been instrumental in creating the organization’s Courage to Search program.

For over 60 years, The Women’s Home has been building communities that strengthen women as they reclaim their stability. Its mission has now expanded to include serving families. “Our clients, the majority of whom are women, are survivors,” says Anna Coffey, CEO of The Women’s Home. “They have been through some of the most traumatic experiences that anyone can face. At The Women’s Home we create safe sacred places where women can do the hard work of reclaiming their lives. Women who know their worth, nurture their dignity, and respect themselves can create lives that are not just worth living but also worth celebrating.” Using a unique WholeLife® model of care that works with individuals holistically and over an extended period of time, The Women’s Home prepares women and their families to become empowered and productive forces in their communities.
