Amy and Rob Pierce are proud Houstonians who stand out in the city for their charitable work, political fundraising, and work championing children. The couple met while attending the University of Texas at Austin and have been married for over 27 years. They lived in Austin; Washington, D.C.; and New York City before coming home to Houston in 2004.  The loving parents of Kendall, Kyle, Kaitlyn, and Kamren, Amy and Rob are very involved in every aspect of their children’s lives.

The couple is truly honored to be selected as CKW LUXE 2020 Top 20 Impact Makers.

Amy received her BS degree in journalism and public relations, graduating with honors, from The University of Texas at Austin. She began her career in political event planning, fundraising, and campaign management shortly after she graduated.

When Rob’s career took the couple from Washington D.C. to Houston  and then to New York City, Amy continued her political fundraising. She also began to focus on charity work and working with children. Passionate about the arts, Amy has been a member of the board of directors of Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) since 2004. From 2015 to 2017, she was chairman of the board of directors, and in 2017 she chaired the TUTS Gala. She also serves on the boards of  SEARCH Homeless Services, UNICEF, The Women’s Fund, KNOWAutism, and M.D. Anderson’s Advance Team.

Amy co-founded The Houston 20, a grassroots movement to stop sex trafficking in Houston and Texas. She also serves on Music Doing Good’s President’s Leadership Council, a group of community leaders dedicated to providing music scholarships to Houston’s economically challenged students.

In 2019 Amy cochaired the Women of Substance Luncheon and chaired the annual fund at St. Francis Episcopal School.

Some of the honors Amy has received for her tireless work within the Houston community include being an Easter Seals Hats Off to Mothers honoree 2015, being the recipient of Awty International School’s Volunteer of the Year Award  2016, being named a Woman of Substance 2017, and being named one of ABC13’s Women of Distinction 2018.

After getting his degree at The university of Texas at Austin, Rob attended Georgetown Law, earning his Juris Doctor (JD).  He practiced with Baker Botts in Houston before joining Lehman Brothers in New York City. Now called TD Securities, Rob is the Head of U.S. Energy Investment Banking for the firm. In service to the community, Rob serves on the board of Houston Children’s Charities, and, with his sons, is actively involved in Boy Scouts of America.

Amy and Rob are committed to supporting Houston and their local community with a focus on the arts, education, homelessness, and children’s issues, particularly fighting for those without a voice. In 2013, they chaired the celebration for The River Performing and Visual Arts Center, which is affiliated with TUTS. The center provides accessible, affordable fine arts education to individuals with disabilities. In 2014, they chaired the TUTS Gala, and in 2017 they chaired the UNICEF Gala. Together, as well, they cochaired the TUTS 50th Anniversary Season 2018/2019.

In honor of their service, Amy and Rob were named St. Jude Children’s Research Center ambassadors for 2018 and a 2019 Champion for a Cure for Texas Children’s Cancer Center.

Amy and Rob are both active with their children’s school, St. Francis Episcopal, and with their church, St. Martins Episcopal.  Service, compassion for others, and the importance of education are the hallmarks of Amy and Rob’s lives, and they are instilling the same values in their children as they grow to be of service to Houston.

It is for all the reasons mentioned above, and many more, that Amy and Rob Pierce have been named a Top 20 Power Couple Impact Maker for 2020.
