CKW Luxe is proud to announce that Gracie Cavnar is our honoree for the North Star Award. This award goes to a philanthropic woman who has been a sincere leader, mentor, and teacher to others and made a significant impact by her wisdom and guidance.

When Gracie Cavnar decided she needed to do something about the rising obesity rates amongst the children of Houston, she met the challenge head on. As a matter of fact, she gave up her life to devote herself to the solution. In 2005, Gracie and her husband, Bob Cavnar, launched The Recipe for Success Foundation “… to lead the way in combatting childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate, and eat their food and by helping the community provide healthier diets for our kids.” Since then, under Gracie’s leadership, the foundation has educated nearly 33,000 children in Texas through school programs at the rate of 4,000 children every month. Gracie’s work hasn’t stopped there. The foundation recently broke ground for a wonderful initiative called Hope Farms. Among other things, it will train U.S. Veterans to become urban farmers and operate an on-site farm stand. CKW Luxe would like to commend Gracie Cavnar for her initiative in helping a generation of children discover the joy and benefits of nutritious food and congratulate her on being our North Star Award honoree.
