(Houston, TX) Houston-based MasterWord Services, Inc. (MWS) a  privately held global language solutions company, has announced Ludmila (Mila) Golovine, founder and CEO, is a recipient of Enterprising Women magazine’s Enterprising Women of the Year award for 2016. This award honors women business owners who have demonstrated they have fast-growth businesses, mentor or actively support other women and girls involved in entrepreneurship, and stand out as leaders in their communities. Many award recipients are also leaders in key organizations that support the growth of women’s entrepreneurship.

Golovine won in the $10- to $25 million in annual revenues category.  She will be recognized at the 14th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration February 28 - March 1 at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove Miami, Florida.

“The Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration continues to grow each year, attracting more nominations from outstanding women entrepreneurs around the world. Our class of 2016 includes honorees from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Portugal, South Africa, China, and several other countries,” said Monica Smiley, publisher/CEO of Enterprising Women.

MasterWord, incorporated by Golovine in 1993, is ranked #10 in North America and among the Top 40 largest language services providers in the world, according to independent market research firm Common Sense Advisory (CSA Research). The company has grown from one to 140 full-time employees serving Fortune 500 energy, engineering, healthcare, insurance and social services companies and supporting clients on four continents. MWS is recognized as a Top Workplace in Houston Chronicle rankings, one of the “Top 100 Women Owned Businesses” in Texas and one of the “Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses” in the US by DiversityBusiness.com.

Golovine is a professional translator, interpreter, and business leader who understands the complexities of the global marketplace and excels at introducing and developing innovative solutions based on creative thinking and strategic planning. In 2014, she was also featured as a “Most Prominent Alumni” on the Bloomberg BusinessWeek profile of the University of Houston C. T. Bauer College of Business. She was the first University of Houston Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship (WCE) alum to endow a student scholarship at her alma mater.  Her influence is illustrated further by her recognition as Outstanding Young Alumni Award University of Houston (1997) and  “Future 500” award winner (UH).  Earlier this year, MWS earned the language industry’s certification of conformance to the first-ever global International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Guidelines for Community Interpreting. The Geneva, Switzerland-based internationally recognized ISO 13611: 2014 guidance document provides criteria and recommendations for the community interpreting industry.

“When this Enterprising Women of the Year awards program began 14 years ago, there were only a handful of nominees in what was then the highest revenue category –over $10 million in annual revenues. This growth reflects the fact that more women are scaling their businesses to the $100 million plus level. The Enterprising Women of the Year Award has grown each year in prestige and stature so women entrepreneurs at all levels want to be recognized with this award for the great work they are doing. We could not be more proud of the outstanding women who make up the Enterprising Women Class of 2016,” Smiley said.
