CKW LUXE is proud to announce that Margaret Alkek Williams is our Aquarian Award honoree. This is our first time presenting this special award. This award goes to a woman who has made transformational contributions to the city of Houston by being socially conscious, a humanitarian, philanthropic, committed to bettering the lives of others, and inspiring others to do the same.

One of Houston’s most avid fundraisers and generous philanthropists, Margaret Alkek Williams has devoted her life to Houston’s cultural community. As chairman of the Albert and Margaret Alkek Foundation, Margaret continues her family’s mission to advance educational and medical institutions and to preserve and promote the fine and performing arts. Devoted to the well-being of children, Margaret helped launch UNICEF’s Audrey Hepburn® Society in the United States. In 2013, the U.S. Fund for UNICEF honored Margaret with the Audrey Hepburn® Society Philanthropist of the Year Award. She was the first person in the United States ever to receive the honor. A small sample of the important arts institutions Margaret supports includes Houston Grand Opera (HGO); Houston Ballet; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Society for the Performing Arts; Houston Symphony; Alley Theatre; and Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS).
