In this issue, we celebrate achieving success through perseverance and hard work. It’s hard to believe, but this is our fourth anniversary issue. Only four short years ago, I was contemplating whether or not I should make CKW LUXE magazine a reality. It had long been a dream of mine. Though there were many reasons against it, it seemed to me there were so many more in favor of it.

I believed I had a message of love, hope, and positivity to share with others, and I knew in my heart that the best way to do so would be through a philanthropic magazine. In my mind, I envisioned each issue being filled with stories that reflected the good being done in Houston and around the world, articles that would uplift readers and show them a way to accomplish their goals, and examples of living life for the betterment of ourselves and others. I believe we have accomplished that through perseverance and hard work and will continue to maintain the high standards we have set for ourselves in the future.

Along with celebrating our accomplishment of being in print for four years, CKW LUXE is celebrating the accomplishments of some of its most noteworthy citizens, who also have got where they are through perseverance and hard work:

The CKW LUXE Star Awards, now in their fourth year as well, honor exceptional and inspiring women and youth in the community who have impacted and influenced the lives of others. They are special awards, and are presented only during our anniversary celebrations.

​

CKW LUXE’S Top 20 CEOs and Entrepreneurs Awards are being presented this year for the first time. The recipients of this noteworthy award are current CEOs, retired CEOs, and entrepreneurs who serve/have served their companies with integrity and support their community with compassion. They will be bestowed every three years. The first gala to present these prestigious awards will be held in the Ballroom at Bayou Place on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

I invite you to open  up the pages of this issue and be inspired by the stories of these accomplished Houstonians who have achieved success for themselves and their community through perseverance and hard work and to be inspired by articles encouraging us all to be successful in whatever we set out to do.
