Mia Zhong is only six years old. However, she has already made a name for herself on the national stage. Mia did Houston proud by placing second overall in the Princess (four to six years) age group and taking first place in the National Actress category at the National American Miss (NAM) 2019 competition held at Disneyland last November. Mia’s resume, community service project, poise and presentation in formal wear, on-stage personal introduction, on-stage answers to questions, personality while being interviewed, talent, and modeling and acting abilities all contributed to her achievements at the competition.

NAM provides American girls with the opportunity to gain poise, self-confidence, and valuable communication skills. Based on the foundational principle of fostering positive self-image by enhancing the natural beauty within, the program is designed for today’s girl. It celebrates America’s greatness and the individuality of American girls. Ultimately, it strives to imbue participants with confidence so they canpursue their dreams and make them come true.

A kindergarten student at Annunciation Orthodox School, Mia loves to dance. In fact, dancing is her favorite activity. Each week she takes classes at Houston Ballet and at J&H Dance School. It is her deepest desire to become a ballerina. As Mia puts it, this is because she “loves being on stage and learning new moves!” Proud of her Chinese heritage, Mia celebrates her culture through traditional dance. When she isn’t dancing, Mia enjoys playing piano, figure skating, playing soccer, or drawing.

Mia is also a caring member of her community and volunteers at The Birthday Party Project (TBPP). This wonderful organization hosts birthday parties each month for underserved children living in homeless and transitional facilities. All children who have a birthday that month are celebrated.

Talented and compassionate, Mia shares her joy of dancing, living, and learning with everyone around her. We at CKW LUXE celebrate her enthusiasm and accomplishments knowing this is only the beginning, and we look forward to witnessing all that is yet to come.
