The Women’s Home Dares Houstonians To Take a Chance for Charity
Is rappelling down a 26-story building a must-do item on your bucket list? If it is, you can check it off on Saturday, May 1, 2021. The Women’s Home, in partnership with Over the Edge, is offering registered fundraisers who have raised $1,000 for The Women’s Home the opportunity to rappel down the side of the beautiful Double Tree Galleria. Not only is this a once-in-a-lifetime chance for thrill seekers, it will also reward them with a bird’s-eye view of Space City, the community The Women’s Home is dedicated to supporting.
The COVID-safe fundraising opportunity will follow all social distancing protocols. Rappelers will scale the building one at a time. Thanks to these risk-takers, funds will flow to The Women’s Home supporting the organization’s mission to build communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability.
Those not yet ready to check this one off their bucket list can still support the organization by joining the “chicken coop” and donate directly to the cause. A third option is to pool funds with coworkers to “Toss Your Boss.” By raising $1,000 between coworkers, a company or organization can nominate a company leader to send over the edge. www.thewomenshome.org/ote/
