Dougal Cameron is president of Cameron Management, a Houston-based real estate company, which owns, finances, leases, and manages office buildings. It is to the company’s credit that it does all this in an integrated fashion. Leading by example, Cameron Management has set the standard for investing in people by mentoring and encouraging others through service in nonprofit and Christian ministry organizations. Cameron Management’s vision is to honor God and serve people. Its mission is to be the standard of excellence in serving its tenants with rigor. Its values are based on integrity, teamwork, and freedom, and it is 100 percent owned by its employees.
The company also aims to bring value to its tenant base, as well as to the community at large, through effective on-site management. The Cameron Management concept is to house all functions of owning and managing a commercial office property under one umbrella: ownership, property management, leasing, and engineering. This concept produces valuable synergies, which in turn help contain the overall cost of running a building. Lower costs are passed on to the tenants through well-managed operational expenses. It is Cameron Management’s philosophy to maintain particularly close relationships with its tenants so that they feel valued and their needs are responded to quickly.
Dougal is married to Cathy Cameron, who trained as an architect. He and Cathy are the proud parents of Dougal, Victoria, Trent, and Reagan. All of Dougal and Cathy’s children are married and they have nine grandchildren under the age of five.
